The meeting served importance following the forecast of heavy rainfall that may lead to a rise in water levels of River Jhelum, Wular Lake, and other water bodies.
On the occasion, DC directed all concerned departments to remain fully alert and ensure close coordination for timely response. He stressed on mobilizing resources, keeping emergency teams ready, and safeguarding life and property in case of any eventuality.

People have also been advised to safeguard children, elderly persons, and livestock, and to keep essential supplies and important documents safely stored.
On the occasion, DC also said that the District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC) is fully functional round-the-clock and can be contacted on helpline numbers 01952-234343, 7006951766, 7006493646 for any emergency assistance.
