Jammu | :  The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) felicitated 208 students from various colleges of Jammu Division with summer internship certificates at its Regional Campus here at Bari Brahmana on Friday.

The certificates were awarded by the Joint Director, JKEDI, Chand Kishor Sharma during a simple but impressive function, for completion of the summer internship by these students at JKEDI. Students who underwent their 10-day (60 hours) Summer Internship at the Bari-Brahmana campus of the institute as per the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020, expressed gratitude for the exclusive mentorship and guidance. As per NEP 2020, all undergraduate students have to complete 60 hours of internship program for completion of their degree program.

Speaking on the occasion, Joint Director JKEDI congratulated the interns and stressed on the importance of entrepreneurship and innovation in Saturday’s competitive environment. He also took feedback from the outgoing interns in order to provide a more inclusive internship to the future batches.

The internship programs at JKEDI are being conducted by a team of expert faculty of the JKEDI under the overall supervision of Director JKEDI.

Meanwhile, a fresh batch of 50 students from Government College for Women (GCW) Gandhi Nagar completed their summer internship program at JKEDI Baribrahmana campus. During the program, the students were introduced to the role and functioning of the JKEDI. They gained exposure to the program verticals of the institute, all aimed at promoting entrepreneurship as a viable career choice in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir.

Various sessions related to core principles of entrepreneurship, decision making, time management and leadership were held for the interns wherein real-time exposure to running a successful business venture was provided to them. These activities helped the interns to gain insight with respect to the various challenges faced by an entrepreneur and the ways to overcome them.

Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) is dedicated to foster entrepreneurship and self-employment in the region through training, research and development activities.
