Samba | : District Development Commissioner, Samba, Ayushi Sudan Thursday chaired a review meeting to assess the implementation and progress of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) and Jammu & Kashmir Competitiveness Improvement of Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP) here at the DC Office Complex.
At the outset, Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Rakesh Khajuria presented a comprehensive update on the ongoing projects under HADP and JKCIP.
The DDC held detailed deliberations on the status of major projects and their impact on the farming community.
Reiterating the importance of allied sector development, the DDC stressed scaling up schemes covering Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, Horticulture, Horticulture Planning & Marketing, and Sericulture. She emphasized extending benefits to more farmers and beneficiaries to maximize the outreach and impact of these programmes across the district. The concerned departments were directed to take proactive steps to bridge gaps, remove deficiencies, and ensure maximum farmer coverage.
Calling for collaborative efforts towards strengthening sustainable agriculture and rural development, the DDC also urged banks to prioritize and expedite the sponsorship of loan cases with proper handholding support to beneficiaries.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Champa Devi, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Assistant Director Fisheries, District Officer HPM, District Sericulture Officer, District Head KVK, Lead District Manager, besides officers and field staff from all Agriculture & Allied Departments.
