DC Pulwama chairs 24th DLC meeting to review HADP, Approves 2386 applications under HADP & 232 under JKCIP

Pulwama |:  Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom, Wednesday chaired the 24th District Level Committee (DLC) meeting at the District Administrative Complex Pulwama to review and approve applications under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) and the Competitiveness Improvement of Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP).

During the meeting, a total of 2,386 applications under HADP were approved across multiple sectors, including 1620 in Agriculture, 456 in Horticulture, 233 in Sheep Husbandry, 65 in Sericulture, 05 in Animal Husbandry, 04 in Horticulture (P&M), and 03 in Fisheries.

In addition, 232 applications under JKCIP were also approved including 210 cases in Agriculture department and 22 cases in Sheep Husbandry department.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Qayoom said that HADP is a transformative initiative aimed at uplifting the farming community by introducing modern techniques, providing infrastructure support and strengthening value-chain linkages. He added that the aim of both HADP and JKCIP is to ensure that farmers and agri-entrepreneurs are equipped with the tools, resources and necessary training to enhance productivity and income.

Furthermore, DC directed all implementing departments to ensure transparent and time-bound execution of the approved projects and called for regular follow-up and coordination with beneficiaries so that the initiatives yield tangible results in terms of productivity, employment generation and quality produce.

Among others, the meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, General Manager DIC Pulwama, Chief Agriculture Officer Pulwama, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Pulwama, Assistant Director Fisheries Pulwama, District Sheep Husbandry Officer Pulwama and Lead District Manager Pulwama.
