Srinagar | Aug , 12: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday appealed people to take national flag to greater hights and contribute to maintaining its dignity. “
Addressing a Tiranga rally here Chief Minister said “It is not essential to have a large crowd to make a difference. Each of us can play a role in preserving the respect and honor of the national flag.”He emphasized that the act of hoisting the national flag should not be confined to official events alone. “We should strive to elevate the national flag and emulate those who have made the ultimate sacrifices to uphold its respect,” he remarked. Abdullah encouraged individuals not to feel discouraged when they stand alone in their pursuit of righteousness. “A few years ago, the national flag could only be raised on government properties and during specific official events. However, it was one individual who challenged this limitation in court, securing the right to display the national flag on his own property. This led to a change in legislation, allowing us to raise the tricolor at every home,” he said.
