Budgam | : As part of the ongoing Har Ghar Tiranga (HGT) campaign under the banner of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a vibrant Mahotsav was Monday celebrated at Behist-i-Zehra Park, Budgam.

The event featured an impressive display of stalls set up by multiple government departments, aimed at creating awareness among the general public about various welfare schemes and providing on-spot registration services for beneficiaries.

Participating departments included Animal Husbandry, Agriculture, Employment, Rural Development Department (RDD), ICDS, Handicrafts, Handlooms, Industries, Banks, NRLM, Horticulture, Sheep Husbandry, and Health. Each department showcased its schemes, services, and achievements, drawing keen interest from the large number of visitors.

In the ICDS stall, a live demonstration of the Poshan Abhiyaan was presented to promote nutritional awareness.

The Agriculture Department displayed indigenous honey, vegetables, and other crops, while the Handicrafts and Handloom departments exhibited handwoven items, including a beautifully crafted Tricolour motif made entirely by hand.

Banks conducted on-spot registrations for social security schemes like Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and PM Jan Dhan Yojana, registering at least 160 cases during the event.

Similarly, RDD, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Horticulture, and Health departments highlighted their ongoing programs and the benefits available to the public.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, lauded the collective efforts of all participating departments in making the Mahotsav a grand success.

He said that such public outreach programs not only inform people about government schemes but also bring services closer to the community.

The DC emphasised that all these initiatives are being conducted under the aegis of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, with every sub-division and block in Budgam actively participating with zeal and enthusiasm.

He said that Har Ghar Tiranga campaign is more than just a symbolic gesture ,it is a reflection of our shared identity and national pride.

He further said that India events like these are a reminder that development and patriotism can go hand in hand, and that a truly empowered society is one where people are aware of their rights, have access to opportunities, and feel a deep sense of belonging to the nation.

DC also underlined that the administration is committed to ensuring last-mile delivery of all schemes.

He said , “No household should remain unaware of the benefits the government offers. Through such Mahotsavs, we bridge the gap between governance and the people,”.
