Jammu: J&K Bank Chairman and CEO Parvez Ahmed inaugurated an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) at Peer Budhan Ali Shah at Satwari and also electronically commissioned 4 ATM’s and 2 Business Units at different locations across Jammu, in the presence of Executive Presidents Vagish Chander, S S Sehgal, other senior management of the bank and a gathering of bank’s valuable customers, senior citizens and local businessmen.

The two business units inaugurated are located at SKUAST Chatha and Majua Uttami Bishna, besides 4 automated teller machines have been installed at Hatli Morh in Kathua, Rajinder Nagar in Bantalab, Armed Police Complex in Chhani Himmat and Exchange Road in Rehari.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Parvez Ahmed said, “The ATM is the most preferred alternate delivery channel for customer convenience and the Bank is in process of mapping the whole geography, by taking ATM and Branch Network to all parts of the state. Although the Bank has appointed Business Correspondents through Khidmat centers to cater to unbanked villages, the customers in rural areas still prefers to have the comfort of a Physical branch at their location. Being the preferred financial institution of the state, we need to meet the expectations of the customers and open more branches wherever feasible”.

“We are steadily increasing our number of service delivery points commensurate with the growing needs of the people for better banking and financial services right near their doorstep,” he added.

Reiterating the resolve of taking banking facilities to every nook and corner of the state, he further said, “Providing modern banking services in the remote areas of the state is one of the key focus areas of our business strategy, and today’s inauguration in another step in this direction”.

“The new premises of SKUAST for the students and learned faculty reflect the commitment of the Bank to provide best ambience and state of the art facilities to its customers.  The Business unit at Majua was a long pending demand of locals and this will also facilitate taking the financial inclusion to the next level and improve the penetration of credit in the area,” said the Chairman.

Meanwhile, he also hailed the tireless efforts of the J&K Bank Staff and stated that the real strength of the Institution lies in its passionate work force, committed to set new standards in hassle free service delivery to the customers.

During the occasion, Parvez Ahmed also prayed for the people of the state and present flowers and a Chadar at the shrine of revered Sufi Saint..

Thanking the Bank, Administrator Auqaf Islamia Wakeel Ahmad Butt appreciated the bank management for installation of the ATM facility, which he said would bring a sense of ease for people thus making their association with the bank more convenient and fruitful.
