Rajouri : The Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) Rajouri concluded on Friday its pre-event activities for the Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Programme with a grand valedictory function, celebrating the participation of its students and reaffirming the institution’s commitment to youth empowerment and nation-building.
The event, held on campus, was graced by Shri Rajinder Sapru, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Rajouri, as the Chief Guest. In his address, he underscored the crucial role of youth in driving national progress, issuing a stern warning against the menace of drug abuse and urging young people to lead the charge for a drug-free society. “No country can truly develop without the active and informed participation of its youth,” he stated, and emphasized the importance of understanding history to build a better future.
Mr. Abhishek Sharma, IAS, Registrar of BGSBU, lauded the organizing team’s efforts and highlighted the importance of the Viksit Bharat @2047 vision. He encouraged students to cultivate a scientific temperament and proactively contribute to the betterment of society. Reaffirming the transformative potential of youth, he administered the Nasha Mukt Bharat Pledge to the students, encouraging them to commit to a life free from substance abuse. The function included impactful presentations by three students including Mohd Zubair (Department of Islamic Studies) discussed the Emergency Period in India (1975), Tanveer (B.Tech ITE) highlighted key aspects of Viksit Bharat 2047 and Areeba (B.Tech CSE) shared her insights on the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. The event also featured the felicitation of Dr. Parwez Alam, HoD, Department of Psychiatry, GMC Rajouri, for his outstanding contributions. Students who actively participated in the pre-event activities were also honored for their involvement. The proceedings were conducted by Dr. Tanveer Ahmed, with Dr. Parwez Alam, Coordinator of the Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Programme, delivering the welcome address.
