Baramulla |: Division of Animal Genetics and Breeding at the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, SKUAST-K Shuhama, in collaboration with the Sheep Husbandry department (SHD) Kashmir, organized a Farmer-Scientist Interaction and awareness camp at far flung areas of Baramulla.
A team of scientists from the Division of AGB, Prof. Syed Shanaz, Head of the Division, Dr Rafiq Ahmed, Director Sheep Husbandry Kashmir, DSHO, SDO concerned Veterinary Assistant Surgeons, visited the area and imparted awareness and training to Sheep breeders on various aspects of scientific and sustainable livestock rearing practices vis-a-vis the importance of conserving native germplasm.
The beneficiaries were made aware of various schemes offered by the Department under HADP, NLM and ISDS, besides motivating them for startups and innovative sheep breeding practices.
Free quality medicine was distributed by SHD and university developed feed was provided to the stakeholders including women beneficiaries by AGB Division SKUAST-K.
