Srinagar| July,25 : A high-level delegation from the Food and Supplies Employees Association Kashmir, led by President Ajaz Khan, on Friday called on Dr. Owais Ahmad, the Director of the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Department in Kashmir. The delegation included Senior Vice President Abdul Qayoom Beigh, Convener Muneer Phalgaroo, Vice President Shahnawaz Ahanger, and General Secretary Feroz Najar.
During the meeting, the delegation discussed several critical issues affecting the department’s workforce. They emphasized the need for a reorganization of the department to enhance efficiency and proposed the placement of storekeepers as Tehsil Supply Officers (TSOs) to address staffing and role adjustments. The revival of the enforcement wing was also highlighted to improve oversight and compliance. Additionally, the delegation called for the rationalization of field staff to ensure optimal deployment and balance workloads, as well as timely procurement of stationery and essential supplies to facilitate smooth operations. They also sought resolution of pay anomalies to ensure fair compensation across the workforce.
Dr. Owais Ahmad responded positively to the delegation’s concerns, providing a patient and sympathetic hearing. He issued directives for the immediate redressal of several issues raised. The Association expressed gratitude for his responsive approach and conveyed strong confidence in his leadership, hoping for the timely resolution of all outstanding matters.
