Srinagar : The Inspector General of Police Kashmir Range V.K. Birdi on Wednesday convened a high-level meeting at PCR Kashmir to assess security arrangements for upcoming events organized by the National Legal Services Authority (NLSA) and the University of Kashmir. The meeting was attended by senior officials from various law enforcement and security agencies, emphasizing a collaborative approach to ensure safety.
During the meeting, IGP Birdi highlighted the necessity for increased vigilance to create a secure environment for the NLSA events, which focus on promoting legal awareness and enhancing access to justice. He also stressed the importance of robust security measures for the University of Kashmir Alumni Meet, an event aimed at fostering academic and professional connections. Birdi directed the officers to enhance surveillance around key venues and implement effective traffic management plans to facilitate smooth movement for attendees and the general public. He reaffirmed the significance of both events and the commitment to ensuring a safe atmosphere for all participants.
