Srinagar: A speeding truck crushed to death a woman in Bijbehara on Srinagar-Jammu highway in Anantnag district Tuesday, police said.
The deceased, identified as Shareefa Begum, wife of Mohammad Yousuf Khuroo, was hit by the truck, resulting in her on the spot death.
The deceased was sister of Ghulam Nabi Sumjhi, a senior Hurriyat (G) leader. Meanwhile, a family member said that the chaharum of the deceased will be held on Friday, December 22, at her ancestral graveyard in Batengu area of Anantnag at 2:30 pm.
