Srinagar | : Police on Monday said that it has arrested a drug peddler and also recovered131 grams of charas like substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that in Baramulla a drug peddler Mohd Yousuf Ganie, R/O Sodipora Beerwah, during a checkpoint operation at Chachloora was arrested and subsequently 131 grams of a Charas-like substance was recovered from his possession. Stating that following the arrest, a case was registered under the NDPS Act at Police Station Kunzer besides initiating an investigation Police on the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it in combating drug-related crimes and report any instances of drug peddling or criminal activities to the nearest police station or by calling 112, reiterating therein iyd commitment to firmly act against offenders in accordance with the law.
