Ang: In view of the upcoming Amarnath Yatra a comprehensive mock drill was conducted under the supervision of Major General (Retd.) Sudhir Bahl at Pahalgam to assess disaster preparedness and refine the response strategy wherever necessary.
The drill simulated various emergency scenarios, including fire incidents, terrorist attacks, vehicular accidents, and stampedes. These simulations were carried out at the Nunwan Base Camp, Chandanwari and adjoining areas.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Anantnag, Sandeep Singh Bali, who was present on the occasion, stated that the response strategies for all scenarios were thoroughly reviewed.
The exercise was highly effective in ensuring all stakeholders are well-acquainted with their roles and responsibilities. It played a vital role in enhancing inter-departmental coordination.
