Srinagar : A coordination meeting took place at Police Post Mirgund on Thursday, involving representatives from the Shia community to discuss arrangements for the peaceful conduct of upcoming religious events.
The meeting was chaired by SDPO Pattan Shahjahan Chowdhury, with participation from the SHO of Police Station Pattan and the IC of Police Post Mirgund. During the discussions, community members raised concerns, particularly regarding a shortage of water in certain areas. The police officials assured attendees that this issue would be addressed with the relevant departments for prompt resolution. Additionally, the police emphasized the necessity of maintaining public order and communal harmony, advising participants against displaying flags or banners linked to banned organizations. Community representatives expressed their understanding of these guidelines and committed to cooperating fully with law enforcement to ensure that Muharram processions and gatherings are conducted peacefully and in an orderly manner.
