Kananaskis (Alberta) -Canada|June, 17: The G7 leaders have issued a statement on the ongoing conflict in West Asia, reiterating their commitment to peace and endorsing Israel’s right to defend itself.
They labelled Iran as the principal source of regional instability and terror, urging that the resolution of the Iranian crisis leads to a broader de-escalation of hostilities in the Middle East, including a ceasefire in Gaza. The G7 nations will remain vigilant to the implications for international energy markets and stand ready to coordinate to safeguard market stability. US President Donald Trump has left the G7 summit early, suggesting he is trying to strike a deal with Iran to end the conflict.
