Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has seized 2 motor Boats involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Awantipora.
In a statement issued from party zonal police headquarters Srinagar police said police party of Police Station Awantipora headed by SHO Police Station Awantipora, seized two mechanized motor boats being used for illicit extraction of sand from river Jehulm. Police in its statement identified the accused as Rayees Ahmad WaniS/o Jalal-ud-Din Wani, Shakeel Ahmad Lone S/o KhazirMohd Lone, Manzoor Ahmad WaniS/o Mohd Akbar Wani, Ajaz Ahmad Lone S/o GulamMohiud Din, Mushtaq Ahmad Dar S/o GhMohd Dar and GulamMohiud Din WaniS/o IbliWani, all residents of BunderporaAwantipora.
Stating that a case under FIR NO. 133/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered in this connection Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding illegal mineral-related activities in their neighbourhood.
