Srinagar: Below is the weeklong timeline of key engagements of J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah witnessed within and outside J&K This week:-

  1. LG’s Meeting With Traders At Lal Chowk : LG Manoj Sinha this week interacted with traders at Lal Chowk and reiterated the Government of India’s commitment to fostering a supportive and vibrant business environment. He assured the community of all necessary assistance and reforms.
  2. LG Sinha’s Calls For Action Against Plastic Pollution OnWorld Environment Day: On World Environment Day celebrated this week LG Sinha called for collective action against plastic pollution. “Let us rededicate ourselves to environmental protection and biodiversity conservation for a healthier planet,” he said.
  3. LG Sinha’s Review Meet Ahead Of PM’s Katra Visit: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit, LG Manoj Sinha chaired a high-level meeting with senior administration and police officials to finalize preparations. He appealed to the public to join in large numbers and make the launch of the Chenab Bridge and new Vande Bharat trains a historic event.
  4. LG’s Greetings On Telangana On Statehood Day: Srinagar, June 1:Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha extended his greetings to the people of Telangana on the occasion of the state’s Formation Day. “May the state continue to scale new heights of growth and development. I wish peace, prosperity, and well-being for all its citizens,” he said. Raj Bhawan Srinagar also hosted a special celebration, showcasing Telangana’s rich culture and heritage as part of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’.
  5. CM Omar Pays Tribute on Urs of Hazrat Shah-e-Hamdaan (RA): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah greeted people on the Urs of Hazrat Shah-e-Hamdaan (RA), recalling his timeless message of peace, unity, and compassion. “He shaped Kashmir’s culture, identity, and crafts. May this sacred day bring peace and progress to all,” the CM said in his message.
  6. LG Sinha Extends Jyeshtha Ashtami Greetings To Kashmiri Pandit Community: On the auspicious occasion of Jyeshtha Ashtami, LG Manoj Sinha conveyed warm wishes to all, especially the Kashmiri Pandit community. “May Mata Kheer Bhawani’s divine blessings illuminate our paths,” he said. He also interacted with a large number of pilgrims attending the Kheer Bhawani Mela, highlighting its deep spiritual importance.
  7. CM Omar Extends Zyeth Atham Greetings: CM Omar Abdullah extended heartfelt greetings to the people on the occasion of Zyeth Atham. “It’s a celebration of harmony, heritage, and homecoming,” he remarked, calling it a symbol of Kashmir’s inclusive cultural spirit.
  8. Historic Feat;Three Kashmiri Girls Crack IIT-JEE Advanced: CM Omar Abdullah this week  expressed joy over the success of three Kashmiri girls who cracked the IIT-JEE Advanced exam. Calling it a “historic moment,” he said, “A shining example of our daughters’ brilliance, resilience, and potential. Congratulations to them, their families, and their teachers!”
  9. CM Omar’s Review For PM’s Visit At Reasi, Katra: CM Omar Abdullah this week took a comprehensive review of arrangements at Katra and Reasi ahead of PM Narendra Modi’s historic inauguration of the Katra–Srinagar rail link. He termed the project “transformational,” adding that it would usher in a new era of connectivity and economic progress in J&K.
  10. CM Omar’s Visit To Chenab Bridge Ahead of PM Modi’s Inauguration: Ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit, CM Omar Abdullah visited the iconic Chenab Bridge— the world’s tallest railway bridge— to review final arrangements. “Tomorrow is a landmark day when the Kashmir Valley will finally be connected to the rest of India by rail,” he stated.
