DC Kupwara reviews arrangements for Eid-Ul-Adha

Kupwara: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan Monday convened a meeting of concerned officers and other stakeholders to review the arrangements for celebration of the upcoming festival of Eid-ul-Adha in the district.
Speaking at the occasion, DC impressed upon the officers to be more proactive on ground and ensure availability of all essential amenities to the people so that they can celebrate the holy festival of Eid-ul-Adha with traditional fervor.
She directed the KPDCL and Jal Shakti officers to ensure availability of uninterrupted power and water supply to the people during the festival period so that they may not face any inconvenience. She directed them for establishment of Control Rooms for timely redressal of the grievances of the people.
Regarding sanitation, Municipal Committees were directed to ensure cleanliness and proper sanitation in and around Eidgahs and market places in the towns.
With respect to market checking, DC directed the concerned officers of civil and police to intensify the market inspections in major towns of the district to put strict vigil on profiteering, hoarding and other unfair trade activities.
DC also reviewed availability of food supply/essential commodities, security and other relevant arrangements.
Meanwhile, several members from Auqaf Committees and Market Associations of Kupwara, Handwara, Langate, Sogam, Kralpora, Kralgund and Trehgam who were present in the meeting put forth their demands and grievances before the chair regarding water supply, power supply, sanitation etc. DC heard them patiently and assured them of timely redressal of their genuine issues.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kupwara, Gulzar Ahmad; ADC Handwara, Javed Naseem Masoodi; ASP Kupwara, SDM Lolab, CMO, DSHO, Executive Engineer KPDCL/PHE, Tehsildars, Executive Officers of Municipal Committees, Traffic Police personnel, besides, members of different Auqaf Committees and Market Associations were also present in the meeting.
