Srinagar: Below mentioned are the weeklong highlights of the key engagements of J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah witnessed within and outside Jammu & Kashmir this week:-
1. LG Sinha Offers Prayers At Zeashta Devi Temple: On Zeashta Mata Jayanti, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha paid obeisance at the historic Zeashta Devi Temple in Srinagar. He prayed for peace, prosperity, and the well-being of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The LG also interacted with devotees and extended greetings on the auspicious occasion.
2. CM Omar Reviews JKSSB Functioning, Pushes For Transparent Recruitment: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah reviewed the functioning of the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) today. He instructed officials to identify and eliminate bottlenecks to ensure timely, fair, and transparent recruitment processes across departments.
3. Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Reconstituted: LG Manoj Sinha has reconstituted the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, appointing nine eminent personalities as members for a three-year term. The new board includes figures like Sudha Murty and Mahamandaleshwar Swami Vishveshvaranand Giriji Maharaj, among others.
4. CM Omar Meets Kashmir Traders’ Delegation, Focus On Economic Revival: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah met a delegation from the Kashmir Traders & Manufacturers Federation and assured them of the government’s full support in resolving issues related to market access, trade infrastructure, and pro-business reforms. He reiterated his commitment to economic revival and trader welfare in Jammu & Kashmir.
5. Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board Gets New Members: The Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board has been reconstituted by LG Manoj Sinha, who nominated nine distinguished individuals from various sectors for a three-year term. The board now includes Swami Avdheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj, Prof. Kailash Mehra Sadhu, and others.
6. LG Sinha Chairs Unified HQ Meet, Reviews J&K Security, Amarnath Yatra Plans: LG Manoj Sinha chaired a Unified Headquarters meeting in Srinagar to review the security scenario in J&K and preparations for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. He lauded the forces for ‘Operation Sindoor’ and stressed on intelligence-led anti-terror operations and safety of pilgrims.
7. CM Omar Undertakes Extensive Constituency Visit in G’bal: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah concluded a day-long visit to various areas of his constituency in Ganderbal. Engaging directly with citizens, he emphasized that good governance begins with listening to the people. The CM assured residents that their voices matter and pledged to translate their aspirations into action.
8. LG Sinha Visits Poonch, Announces Govt Job for Shelling Victims’ Kin: LG Manoj Sinha met grieving families affected by Pakistan’s shelling in Poonch and assured full government support. He announced a government job for the next of kin of the deceased and said rehabilitation and border security are top priorities.
9. CM Omar Attends 10th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog In New Delhi: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah participated in the 10th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog in the national capital today. During the meeting, the Chief Minister highlighted the concerns and developmental priorities of Jammu & Kashmir and strongly advocated for greater central support to tackle the region’s unique challenges and foster inclusive growth.
