Srinagar: Below mentioned is the weeklong timeline of key engagements of J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah witnessed this week within and outside Jammu & Kashmir:-
1: LG Manoj Sinha and Omar Abdullah Flag Off Haj Pilgrims: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah were present at Srinagar airport to see off the first batch of 178 Haj pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir departing for Saudi Arabia.
2.Omar Abdullah Meets PM Modi: J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi to discuss the recent Pahalgam terror attack and the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, with the meeting lasting approximately 30 minutes.
3. LG Sinha’s Top Review Meet On Situation In Border Distts: LG Sinha took stock of the situation in border districts of J&K UT with all the senior administrative, police & district officials including DCs of all the border districts. I’m closely monitoring the situation & govt is fully prepared to deal with any eventuality.
4.CM Omar’s Call For Targeted Crackdown: CM Omar Abdullah emphasized that the crackdown to trace perpetrators of the Pahalgam terror attack should not target the entire Kashmiri population, advocating for a focused approach to avoid alienating civilians.
5.CM Omar’s Emergency Cabinet Meet: CM Omar Abdullah held an emergency cabinet meeting in response to India’s airstrikes in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir following the Pahalgam attack, focusing on security and border preparedness.
6. HM Amit Shah In Touch With LG Sinha, CM Omar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke with LG Manoj Sinha and CM Omar Abdullah to address escalating India-Pakistan tensions after Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the Pahalgam attack.
6: CM Omar ‘s Critical Remark On Pak Firing In Poonch: CM Omar Abdullah called Pakistan’s firing in Poonch, which killed 10 civilians, “disproportionate,” emphasizing India’s missile strikes targeted only terror bases.
7. CM Omar’s Remark on Operation Sindoor: CM Omar Abdullah stated that India exercised its “right to respond” through Operation Sindoor, targeting Pakistani terror infrastructure in response to cross-border terrorism.
8.LG Sinha’s Visit To Shelling Hit Uri Areas: LG Manoj Sinha visited Uri to meet soldiers and assess the situation following Pakistan’s artillery shelling, while CM Omar Abdullah rushed to Jammu to review the situation after a failed Pakistani drone attack.
9. CM Omar’s Appeal To Jammu People: CM Omar Abdullah reported a blackout in Jammu, with sirens and intermittent blasts heard, urging residents to stay indoors and avoid spreading rumors.
10. CM Omar’s Condolences On Thapa’s Tragic Demise: CM Omar Abdullah expressed shock and sadness over the death of Rajouri Additional Deputy Commissioner Raj Kumar Thapa, killed in Pakistani shelling, calling it a significant loss to J&K’s administrative services.
11: LG On Deaths In Pak Shelling: Condoling the deaths of people in Pak shelling the Lt Govenor Manoj Sinha said “Anguished by loss of lives due to unprovoked shelling by Pakistan. We have lost brave citizens including our ADDC Rajouri, Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa in the line of duty. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families”, he said.
12: CM Omar’s Critical Remark On IMF Loans To Pak: CM Omar Abdullah criticized the IMF’s $1 billion loan to Pakistan, questioning how it aids de-escalation when Pakistan uses resources for attacks in Poonch, Rajouri, Uri, and other areas.
