New Delhi: Amid rising tensions with Pakistan, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday said that it is his duty as a Minister along with the armed forces to give a befitting reply to anyone who dares to cast an evil eye on the country.

Addressing the Sanatan Sanskriti Jagran Mahotsav here, Rajnath said, “As a Defence Minister it is my responsibility to ensure the security of the country’s borders along with my soldiers. It is also my duty to give a befitting reply to those who cast an evil eye on the country along with my army”.

He also asserted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, necessary action will be taken by the government for the security of the country.

“You all know Prime Minister Narendra Modi very well and are also aware of his working style, his determination. You are also aware about how he has learnt to take risk in his life. I want to assure you all that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi whatever you desire will happen,” he emphasised.

He said that India’s strength lies not only in its military might but also in its culture and spirituality.

Stating that India is a land which has been nurtured by the sages and saints with their thoughts, Rajnath said, “This is absolutely true. But along with this, it is also true that if the soul of India has been created by the sages, then that soul has been protected by our heroes”.

He said that whenever this country needed help, “our great saints have guided us. Our saints have spread their light and knowledge not only in India but all over the world”.
