Kupwara: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan, on Tuesday chaired a detailed review meeting to assess the implementation progress of the PM Surya Ghar (Muft Bijli Yojana) in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, DC laid strong emphasis on proactive coordination among all departments to ensure speedy processing of applications and maximize outreach of the scheme.
She directed the concerned to organize joint awareness camps involving KPDCL, vendors, bankers, and other stakeholders to guide the public and facilitate smooth execution of the scheme at the grassroots level.
It was revealed in the meeting that a total of 788 applications have been received, out of which 729 have been found technically feasible. So far, 278 vendors have been selected and 26 solar rooftop systems (SRTs) have already been successfully commissioned.
To further accelerate the implementation, DC instructed officers to clear all pending cases within a set timeframe. She also proposed a village-wise roster for awareness programs to be conducted at key government offices such as DC Office, RDD, Education, Health and other departments.
A monthly target of 1000 installations was fixed for Kupwara and Handwara sub divisions, with a clear framework for documentation and monitoring.
The meeting, held at the DC Office Meeting Hall, was attended by the CPO, EO MC Kupwara, LDM, officers from KPDCL, and other concerned stakeholders.
