Jammu: Police in Jammu on Tuesday said that they achieved a significant breakthrough in the fight against drugs and illegal arms with the arrest of a notorious peddler in the Belicharana area.
In a statement issued from the District Police Office Jammu, it was stated that a team from Police Post Belicharana, under the supervision of SP South and SDPO South, led by SHO Police Station Satwari, apprehended one Manpreet Singh @ Sartaj, son of Kuldeep Singh, resident of Simbal Camp, Jammu. Stating that upon the search of the said accused One country-made pistol (desi katta), One live round and approximately 3.95 grams of heroin-like substance from his possession Police in its statement further said that a case under FIR No. 91/2025 was registered at Police Station Satwari under sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act and 3/25 Arms Act. In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police reiterated its commitment to curb the narcotics menace and illegal weapon possession, appealing therein pepple to cooperate with it and report suspicious activities.
