Confirming the incident, an official said that at least three soldiers from 36 Rashtriya Rifles of Indian Army have been missing and efforts are on to trace the missing soldiers.
He said two more soldiers went missing after avalanche hit in Nowgam sector of Kupwara district.
He said continuous snowfall has been hampering the rescue operation.
