Srinagar: Fire broke out in a building housing the Convergent Journalism department at Central University Nowgam campus on Tuesday.
Reports said that the fire erupted shortly after noon in the Nowgam campus of the varsity.
However, fire was brought under control by timely action of Fire and Emergency Services department.
A varsity official said that all the students and staff were evacuated safely from the building.
“Many computers and other devices were damaged. We are ascertaining the cause of fire,” said Arshid Mehraj, Public Relations Officer of the varsity.
