Srinagar: As part of the ongoing Drug Free J&K campaign, an awareness programme was organized at Government High School (GHS) Lawaypora with the aim of combating drug abuse and promoting a healthy, addiction-free lifestyle.
The programme, held on the directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, focused on sensitizing the local population especially the youth about the harmful effects of drug abuse.
The event saw active participation from officials representing the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Education Department, Health Department, Excise Department, Social Welfare Department, and other concerned departments. School staff and students also took part in the programme.
Speakers at the event highlighted the importance of collective community responsibility in addressing the growing challenge of substance abuse. They urged the youth to channelise their energy into constructive and developmental pursuits.
Interactive sessions were conducted to ensure meaningful engagement and to effectively communicate the campaign’s message.
At the end of the event, participants took a pledge to support the Drug Free J&K campaign and commit to protecting future generations from the dangers of drug addiction.
