2-Day Training/ Orientation prog for YUVA DOOTs concludes in Srinagar

Srinagar: A two-day training-cum-orientation programme for YUVA DOOTs (Youth Ambassadors) concluded successfully at the Kashmir Government Polytechnic (KGP), Gogjibagh Srinagar, witnessing the participation of selected and reserve candidates from across the district.
The programme was organized on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat under the aegis of Mission YUVA, aiming to build a strong network of grassroots youth mobilizers for entrepreneurship development.
The programme was presided over by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Srinagar, Rifat Aftab, who highlighted the importance of youth-led development and grassroots entrepreneurship.
In her address, she emphasized the importance of youth-led initiatives in promoting self-reliance and economic sustainability at the grassroots level. She lauded the efforts of the Department in reaching out to the youth and encouraged YUVA DOOTs to act as catalysts of positive change within their communities.
Over the course of two days, training was imparted to all 190 selected YUVA DOOTs, along with 100 reserve YUVA DOOTs, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and tools required to guide aspiring entrepreneurs and to spread awareness about self-employment schemes under Mission YUVA.
Deputy Director Employment Srinagar, Dr. Sheeba Inayat presented an overview of Mission YUVA, its objectives, and the Institutional Business Support Mechanism, emphasizing the importance of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for result-oriented implementation.
During the programme, the District Employment Officer provided detailed insights into the operational structure of the programme, roles and responsibilities of YUVA DOOTs, and the support framework available at the district level.
District Career Counselling Officer shared findings from the Baseline Survey, conducted to identify youth with entrepreneurial potential across various Panchayats and wards of the district. She guided the participants on targeted mobilization, focusing on aspirants most likely to benefit from the initiative.
The training programme also featured interactive sessions conducted by resource persons from JKEDI, J&K Bank, and DE&CC Srinagar, which included PowerPoint presentations and live demonstrations of the Mission YUVA App/Portal. Key topics such as mobilization techniques, scheme eligibility, documentation processes, and reporting mechanisms were thoroughly covered.
The sessions saw enthusiastic participation from the YUVA DOOTs, (Youth Ambassadors) who actively engaged in discussions, asked relevant questions, and shared valuable suggestions.
With a well-defined action plan and comprehensive training, the YUVA DOOTs are now equipped to begin their grassroots outreach activities, promoting entrepreneurship and youth-led development across District Srinagar under Mission YUVA initiative.
