Empowering Girls through Sports: SANKALP HEW, Mission Shakti organises Sports Event at HSS Aloosa

Bandipora: SANKALP – Hub for Empowerment of Women (HEW), Mission Shakti, Department of Social Welfare Bandipora in collaboration with the Department of Youth Services and Sports, on Tuesday organized a sports competition for female students at Higher Secondary school (HSS) Aloosa.
The event held under the banner of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao,’ aimed to empower and uplift young girls by promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and gender equality through sports.
On the occasion, a series of athletic events were conducted, with the Tug of War competition emerging as the highlight of the day where students showcased strength, coordination, and enthusiasm.
The winning and runner-up teams were felicitated with trophies, free uniforms and to acknowledge the efforts, the Physical Education teacher was also felicitated for his commitment to training and mentoring the participants.
In a progressive step towards promoting menstrual health awareness, sanitary napkins were also distributed among the female students.
Addressing the participants, Principal and District Mission Coordinator, SANKALP HEW Mission Shakti, emphasized the importance of sports in building self-confidence, leadership, and resilience among young women. They encouraged students to take pride in their abilities and pursue excellence across all spheres of life.
