Srinagar|April,22: Several tourists were reportedly injured in a suspected militant attack near the famous tourist destination of Pahalgam in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday afternoon, officials said.
According to initial reports, the attack took place in the Baisaran meadow area, a scenic but non-motorable spot located near Pahalgam. “Militants opened fire on a group of tourists. While several have been injured, we fear there may be some casualties,” a senior official said. A police officer confirmed that gunshots were heard in the area. “The site of the incident is not accessible by vehicles. Security forces have been rushed to the spot on foot,” he added. More details are awaited.
