Drug peddler arrested Pulwama; Contraband substance also Recovered: Police

Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in pulwama and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Litter at a checkpoint established at SIDCO Lassipora Crossing near Shah Hotel intercepted a suspect identified as Sahil Rashid Sheikh S/o Abdul Rashid Sheikh R/o Tumlahal who on seeing the Police Party, tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully by alert police party, adding therein that during search, heroine like contraband substance weighing 17.50 grams was recovered from his possession.
Stating that a case under FIR Number 38/2025 was registered under relevant section of NDPS Act at Police Station Litter besides initiating further investigation Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to share information regarding narcotics or any other crimes to the nearest police establishment or dial 112, appealing therein people to cooperate in curbing the menace of drugs from the society, reiterating therein its commitment to act tough against the criminals as per the law.
