Srinagar : In a proactive initiative to strengthen cyber resilience among police personnel, Police in Handwara on Thursday conducted a comprehensive Cyber Security Awareness Workshop at the Police Control Room Handwara. The event was organized under the supervision of the senior police leadership, with an aim to educate and sensitize officers and officials about emerging cyber threats and safe digital practices.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar the session was led by the incharge District Technical Team Insp Owais Nazir , who delivered detailed presentations on various aspects of cyber security. Topics covered during the workshop included types of cybercrimes, preventive strategies, online fraud detection, social engineering attacks, data privacy, secure usage of official communication platforms, and procedures for investigating and reporting cyber-related incidents.
The resource team also conducted interactive demonstrations and shared real-life case studies to enhance practical understanding among the participants. Special emphasis was laid on how police officers can effectively respond to cyber incidents and assist the public in cybercrime-related grievances.
Addressing the participants, Incharge DTT and other officers highlighted the growing relevance of cyber awareness in modern policing and stressed the need for continuous capacity building in the digital domain. They appreciated the efforts of the technical team and encouraged personnel to utilize the knowledge gained in field operations and investigations.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from police officers and officials across various wings of Handwara Police. The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the discussed topics.
