Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has seized three vehicles engaged in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Police District (PD) Awantipora.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party headed by Incharge Police Post Reshipora seized three vehicles (one JCB bearing registration no TP74082CM1015590 and two Tippers bearing registration nos Jk05-6580, JK01L-9877) for being involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Reshipora Awantipora.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 65/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Awantipora besides initiating further investigation Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to remain vigilant and report any such illegal activities by dialing 112, adding therein that strict legal action would be taken against those violating mining regulations.
