Jammu: Jammu Police on Saturday said that they arrested a notorious criminal, Raman Kumar S/O Bodh Raj R/O Kathar, Arnia, who has multiple FIRs registered against him for various criminal activities. The accused, a history-sheeter of Police Station Arnia, had recently been released after completing detention under the Public Safety Act (PSA).
In a statement issued from the District Police Office, Jammu Police said that during patrolling at Karyal village, PSI Harjinder Pal Singh and his team apprehended Raman Kumar and also recovered a country-made pistol from his possession. The operation was conducted by a police team led by SHO Arnia Inspector Sunil Dutt under the supervision of SDPO R.S. Pura Gurmeet Singh-JKPS and SP Headquarters Jammu Irshad Rather, reinforcing Jammu Police’s commitment to curbing crime and illegal activities in the region. A case FIR No. 16/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Arnia, and further investigation is underway to trace the network behind the recovered illegal weapon.
