Srinagar : Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen, President of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) and former minister, has extended warm greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the auspicious occasion of Shab-e-Qadr.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday Hakeem highlighted the spiritual significance of this sacred night, which is observed with great devotion and prayers by Muslims across the world. He urged the people to seek divine blessings and pray for peace, prosperity, and communal harmony in the region. Expressing concern over the lack of proper arrangements in rural areas, Hakeem Yaseen called upon the administration to take immediate steps to ensure that people do not face hardships during the Eid ul Fitr. “While urban areas receive due attention, rural areas often remain neglected when it comes to festival arrangements. The government must ensure that necessary facilities, including adequate electricity and water supply, are provided to people across all regions,” he said.
PDF President further stressed the need for intensified market monitoring ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr to prevent hoarding, profiteering, and overpricing of essential commodities. As Eid approaches, market prices tend to rise sharply, putting additional financial strain on the common people. The administration must deploy enforcement teams to regulate prices and take strict action against violators,” he added.
Additionally, Hakeem emphasized the importance of sanitation and cleanliness in public spaces, especially around Masjids and shrines, where large gatherings are expected. He urged municipal bodies and local authorities to ensure proper waste management and cleanliness drives in view of the upcoming festivities.
Calling for a coordinated effort from all concerned departments, he urged the Government to finalize arrangements well in advance so that people can observe Shab-e-Qadr and Eid-ul-Fitr without any inconvenience.
“Religious festivals bring people together and reinforce the values of compassion and brotherhood. The government must rise to the occasion and take proactive measures to facilitate smooth and hassle-free celebrations for all,” he said. Hakeem Yaseen also said that JKPDF is committed to stand with the people and raising their concerns at all levels. He extended his best wishes and prayers for the well-being and prosperity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
