Rajouri : Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma, chaired a crucial meeting to review the progress achieved in Aadhaar enrollment and mandatory biometric update drive in the district. The meeting aimed to ensure seamless execution and maximize public participation in the enrollment process.
At the outset, the District Statistical and Evaluation Officer (DSEO) presented an overview of Aadhaar enrollment in different age groups. The Aadhar saturation percentage stands at 38.29% for the 0-5 years age group. Additionally, 76.14% of beneficiaries registered at ICDS centers have been enrolled. Expressing concern over the lower enrollment in the 0-5 years age group, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned departments to intensify efforts to ensure full coverage of this category.
Emphasizing the need for accuracy and efficiency, the DC instructed officials to maintain strict supervision and continuous monitoring to ensure that all eligible citizens receive accurate Aadhaar documentation. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to achieving universal Aadhaar enrollment and stressed the importance of covering every section of society.
Following the Aadhaar review, the Deputy Commissioner also assessed the Swachh Survekshan activities, a nationwide urban cleanliness survey aimed at improving sanitation and waste management practices. The meeting focused on enhancing citizen participation and inter-agency coordination to maintain cleanliness across the district.
The DC underlined the importance of visible cleanliness, sustainable sanitation practices, and robust waste management syste He called for greater coordination among municipal bodies, departments, and stakeholders to ensure effective sanitation measures. He also assured full administrative support for sanitation initiatives and encouraged community participation in maintaining hygiene and cleanliness standards.
Swachh Survekshan evaluates and ranks cities based on their sanitation efforts, encouraging urban local bodies to adopt innovative waste management solutions for a cleaner environment.
The meeting was attended by PO ICDS Fareed Kohli, DSEO Sandeep Sharma, CMO Dr. Manohar Rana, MS GMC&AH Dr. Shamim Ahmed, Tehsildars, CDPOs and other concerned officers.
