DC Shopian takes stock of revenue matters, Stresses on timely service delivery, improving efficiency

Shopian : In order to take stock of various revenue related matters, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta on Tuesday chaired a meeting of revenue officers at Mini Secretariat, here.
The review focused on prompt and timely delivery of online revenue services, and necessary directions were issued to the officers and officials of the department to dispose-off the applications promptly, within the Public Services Guarantee Act (PSGA) timelines. The DC warned against the delay in the provision of revenue services, outside PSGA.
Various other matters including conduct of grievance redressal camps, illegal land encroachments and unauthorised constructions, daily reporting of field staff, field presence at Patwar halqas, migrant grievances, conduct of girdawari and mutation camps, inspections of patwar halqa functioning, record checking, strengthening the work culture were discussed in the meeting, and required action was sought from all officers and officials.
The DC sought time bound service delivery along with ensuring transparency and accountability into the working of revenue officials with a view to further strengthen the work culture in the department.
All officers were instructed to conduct field visits, meet people, listen to grievances for redressal, organize mutation camps and provide services efficiently.
He also instructed officers to improve the performances under all revenue matters immediately.
Priority must be given to the prompt deliverance of all services to the public without waiting for the upper limit of set timelines under the Act, DC emphasized on the occasion.
To improve efficiency and transparency, officers were urged to adopt a proactive approach to address public grievances for resolving the public affairs.
ADC, Zakir Hussain Faaz; ACR, SDM, DIO Shopian, Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars, Girdawars and Patwaris attended the meeting.
