Srinagar/Dec,7: Hurrriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has been put under house arrest on the eve of protest call issued by the resistance groups against the US move to officially declare Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
“Just Placed under #HouseArrest as Joint Resistance Leadership(JRL) and Mutahida Majlis Ulema(MMU) call for Protests all across #Kashmir tomorrow after #FridayPrayers against the US decision to declare #AlQudsAlSharief (Jerusalem) as the capital of Israel,” Mirwaiz said in a tweet.
Earlier, JRL called for peaceful protests tomorrow against the US decision to recognize Jerusalem as capital of Israel.
“Jerusalem represents the religious sentiments of about a billion Muslims living across the globe. US decision to declare this sacred land as the capital of Israel, amounts to political bankruptcy of fascist trump regime,” said the JRL, in a statement today.
