FIR registered for overloading, endangering human lives: Passenger Vehicle seized at Doda

Jammu : Continuing its drive against Motor Vehicle Act violations, the Traffic Police National Highway under the supervision of SSP NHW, Rohit Baskotra, registered a case FIR for overloading and endangering human lives in Doda Sector.
On March 10 2025, a Traffic Police team of Traffic Sub-Division Doda-Kishtwar led by Inspector Rakesh Singh, under the supervision of Dy SP(T) Doda-Kishtwar, seized a Vehicle (Tempo) bearing registration No:-JK02AR/3671 while routine Traffic checking at Doda.
During Traffic checking, it was found that said vehicle was overloaded with approx. 30 Plus Passengers against the seating capacity and hence endangering human lives. On this, a case FIR No. 62/2025 US 281/125 BNS stands registered at Police Station Doda. The Vehicle has been seized on the spot and investigation is going on.
While sharing the details, SSP Traffic conveyed that a stringent action is being taken against MV Act Violators and Traffic Police NHW will continue its drive against such violations.
The SSP Traffic further conveyed that Traffic Police have published a detailed advisory for all types of commuters travelling on NHW in which parents were also advised not to send their wards to school in private vehicles being used for commercial purpose as it is in contravention to law and jeopardizes safety of the students.
Besides, lists of Traffic violators have been published in M-Pari-Vahan Portal, whose Traffic violations Challans are pending in different courts and the people are requested to clear the same immediately otherwise next course of action will be initiated.
