Old Enmity Turns Into Murder, Four Accused Arrested by Bakshi Nagar Police in Six Hours

Jammu : Police in Jammu on Sunday said that a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar against four people accused of assaulting a family in Shakti Nagar, Jammu.
In a statement issued from the District Police Office Jammu Police said that the accused have been apprehended within six hours of the incident. According to the complaint filed by Sanjay Kumar, son of Madan Lal, the accused persons — Ashok Kumar, Sahil Badiyal, Aman Badiyal, and Rishi — entered his residence on February 2, at around 7:30 pm, with the intent to kill him and his family members. “The accused allegedly attacked Sanjay and his father, Madan Lal, with baseball bats and lathis, resulting in serious injuries to Madan Lal. They also threw Madan Lal from the rooftop of their house, inflicting grave injuries. Madan Lal was later shifted to GMC Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries”, reads the Police Statement .
Stating that the case was initially registered under sections 333, 109, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sahita (BNSS) Police in its statement further said that after Madan Lal’s death, the case was upgraded to murder, and the accused were promptly arrested.
Police in its statement further said that in the ongoing investigation, SHO Bakshi Nagar preserved the crime scene and called the FSL and Crime team to collect all tangible evidence, ensuring a watertight case for prosecution, adding therein that crime scene was also video-graphed through the e-Sakshya app, and witness statements were recorded on-site, in compliance with Section 105 BNSS. Stating that a thorough investigation is being conducted,, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement said that appropriate legal action will be taken against the accused, ensuring the conviction of the accused for the crime they committed.
