DDC Ang chairs DLRC/DCC meeting for Quarter ending December-2024

Bandipora: To review the performance of banks for the quarter ending December 2024, a District Level Review Committee/ District Consultative Committee (DLRC/ DCC) meeting was on Tuesday chaired by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, Syeed Fakhrudin Hamid.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including CPO Anantnag, Cluster Head JK Bank Anantnag, Senior Manager SBI, Chief Agricultural Officer Anantnag, DDM NABARD, RSETI Director, and district coordinators from various banks and government departments. Officials from KVIB, EDB, NRLM, and NULM were also present.
LDM Anantnag, Pervaze Ahmad Mir, provided an overview of the district’s banking sector, reporting total deposits of Rs.8,580.92 crore and advances of Rs.6,556.09 crore, resulting in a Credit-Deposit (CD) ratio of 76.40%. He highlighted that the district has 20 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), out of which three are credit-linked, supporting agricultural activities and rural entrepreneurship.
Under the agriculture sector, the district recorded a total disbursement of Rs.592.83 crore, with Rs.555.43 crore allocated for crop loans and Rs.1,100.69 crore for MSMEs. The total priority sector lending up to December 2024 stood at Rs.1,829.50 crore, achieving 57% of the annual target. Meanwhile, the non-priority sector lending reached Rs.1,460.72 crore, recording an achievement rate of 213%.
The LDM also informed the house about significant achievements in government-sponsored schemes, highlighting their role in expanding financial inclusion and supporting economic growth in the district.
The LDM further informed the house about the contribution of JKBRSETI Anantnag, which has played a key role in skill development and self-employment generation. The institute has successfully trained 512 candidates under various programs, providing them with essential entrepreneurial skills.
Special focus was placed on Project Unnati and JKREGP, which aim to empower local youth through self-employment opportunities. JKBRSETI continues to foster entrepreneurship and financial inclusion, equipping trainees with the necessary skills to establish sustainable businesses.
DDC directed banks to enhance credit flow to the agriculture sector and allied activities under the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP). He also urged for greater awareness and facilitation of beneficiaries under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of registering more people under social security schemes through joint coordination among relevant agencies.
Furthermore, the DDC instructed banks to increase the District Credit Plan (DCP) by 10% and focus on lending under various government-sponsored schemes to boost economic development in the region.
The meeting concluded with a commitment from all stakeholders to work collaboratively towards enhancing financial accessibility and supporting the economic progress of Anantnag district.
