Veteran Journalist Naseer Ahmad Passes Away, Death Widely Condoled

Srinagar : Veteran journalist and former Bureau Chief of Zee News in Kashmir, Naseer Ahmad, passed away on Saturday morning. The 60-year-old’s Nimaz-e-Jinaza was offered after Zuhr prayers in Bemina, Srinagar. Naseer is survived by his wife and two daughters, whose demise has been widely condoled by the journalist fraternity and political leaders.
President J&K National Conference President, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, and Vice President and Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah expressed their deep shock and grief over the passing of senior journalist Naseer Ahmad. In their condolence messages the duo praised the deceased as a dedicated professional who exemplified the values of fair and responsible journalism. They acknowledged his significant contributions to the field and noted his enduring influence in the media industry. They offered prayers for peace for his soul and strength for his grieving family.
Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti also condoled the death of the senior journalist. “Deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Naseer Ahmad, the senior journalist and former Bureau Chief of Zee News. His invaluable contributions to journalism will always be remembered. May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannah and provide strength to his family and loved ones during this difficult time. Ameen,” Mehbooba Mufti wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
National Conference (NC) Chief Spokesperson Tanveer Sadiq echoed similar sentiments on X and wrote, “Deeply saddened by the passing of veteran journalist Naseer Ahmad, former Bureau Chief of Zee News in Srinagar. His contributions to journalism were invaluable and will always be remembered. May Allah grant him Jannah and give strength to his family and loved ones in this difficult time. Ameen.”
Peoples Conference also expressed condolences, saying, “Saddened to hear about the passing of Senior Journalist and former Bureau Chief of Zee News, Naseer Ahmad. Our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. May his legacy continue to inspire future generations of journalists.”
