Jammu : Police in Jammu on Monday said that a bovine smuggling attempt was foiled in Sub-division Nagrota, leading to the rescue of four bovines and the seizure of the vehicle used in the crime.
In a statement issued from the District Police Office Jammu Police said that under Operation Kamdhenu, a team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli intercepted a Mahindra Load Carrier (JK14H/6958) at Salora, Jhajjar Kotli, which was being used for illegal transportation of bovines, adding there in that the driver of the vehicle managed to flee from the spot.
Stating that four bovines were rescued, and the vehicle was also seized, Police in it statement further said that an FIR No. 24/2025 U/S 223/299/325/11 PCA Act was registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli, and further investigation is underway. Jammu Police reaffirmed its commitment to taking strict action against bovine smugglers.
