Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Tariq Hameed Karra on Thursday expressed outrage over the unfortunate incident in Sopore area in which a truck driver lost his life due to firing by Army.
In a statement issued here on Thursday Karra strongly condemned the killing of Truck Driver, terming the incident as very fortunate, a matter of grave concern. He said such incidents are detrimental to peace initiatives, attributing to fear psychosis in the society. Killing of Innocent persons is barbaric, inhuman and unacceptable in a civilized society, Govt should look into the matter very seriously and ensure that no innocent life is lost.
Karra urged the Govt to order a timebound judicial probe into the incident to ascertain the facts and the circumstances which left the family of the deceased truck driver devastated. JKPCC President strongly condemned the killing of Makhan Din of Perody (Kathua)who was reportedly detained and subjected to brutal torture in police custody. Karra urged the Govt to bring the facts out and ensure justice to the family of the deceased Makhan Din. Though the magisterial enquiry was ordered into the incident, that should be time bound, ensuring that justice is delivered to the family of the deceased Makhan Din, Karra added.
