Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested a bootlegger in Sopore and also recovered illicit liquor from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police party of Police Post Bus Stand headed by IC Police Post Bus Stand under the supervision of SDPO Sopore, during patrolling intercepted one Farooq Ahmad Ganie @Farooq Jandgur S/o Ghulam Nabi Ganie R/o Bunpora Langate Handwara and during search recovered 11 bottles of illicit liquor from his possession. Police in its statement further said that a case under relevant sections of Excise Act was registered at Police Station Sopore besides initiating further investigation.
