Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested two suspects and seized two vehicles involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Sopore.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police team led by Incharge Police Post Fruit Mandi, in collaboration with the Geology and Mining department seized two vehicles (tippers) and arrested two suspects identified as Bilal Ahmad Dar S/o Ghulam Rasool Dar R/o Khadniyar Baramulla and Zahoor Ahmad Malik S/o Abdul Aziz Malik R/o Taki Sultan Baramulla for being involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Sopore.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed the locals to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
