Anantnag :The District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Syeed Fakhruddin Hamid, on Monday chaired a crucial meeting to review and enhance the district’s irrigation management plan and to optimize the irrigation system to bolster agricultural development within the district.
The meeting was attended by including the Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Chief Planning Officer (CPO), Chief Agriculture Officer (CAO), Chief Horticulture Officer (CHO), Executive Engineers of Irrigation, Assistant Executive Engineers (AEEs), and Block Development Officers (BDOs).
Discussions centered on strategies to improve water distribution and strengthen the maintenance of existing irrigation infrastructure.
At the outset the District Development Commissioner underscored the benefits of a well-functioning irrigation plan within Anantnag.
He stated that a good irrigation system will help in increased Agricultural Productivity, enhance Water use Efficiency , improve livelihoods for farmers, help in diversification of crops and overall result in sustainable agricultural development.
The DDC directed the concerned departments to ensure effective and coordinated planning to enhance the present irrigation capacity of the district so that the needs of local farmers are met.
