New Delhi : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Er Gulam Ali Khatana launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal while campaigning for BJP candidates in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.
Khatana accused the AAP government of widespread corruption and misgovernance, pledging major reforms if BJP comes to power. Addressing traders, educators, and party workers, Khatana promised a Judicial Authority for Traders, ensuring that all sealed shops in Delhi would be reopened within six months to boost economic activity. He highlighted the plight of contractual teachers, vowing to form a committee for swift resolution of their concerns.
Khatana also outlined BJP’s vision for the revitalization of the Yamuna River, proposing a model akin to Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati Riverfront Development Project. “A rejuvenated Yamuna will be a game-changer for Delhi’s environmental and aesthetic landscape,” he stated. The MP stressed the importance of collaborative governance, asserting that BJP would work in coordination with state agencies, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), and the central government to resolve Delhi’s pressing issues.
Taking direct aim at the AAP government, Khatana promised zero tolerance on corruption and announced plans to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe various scams under the Kejriwal-led administration. He accused AAP leaders of betraying public trust and indulging in financial irregularities.
Emphasizing economic inclusivity, Khatana also pledged the expansion of the PM SVANidhi Scheme, which provides financial assistance to street vendors, ensuring broader benefits under BJP rule. The campaign concluded with a strong endorsement of BJP’s governance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with Khatana declaring: “Modi’s Guarantee – Every Promise Will Be Fulfilled!”.
