Jammu : Police in Jammu on Friday said that they have successfully solved a theft case in Sub-Division Nagrota and recovered stolen property worth ₹2 lakh.
In a statement issued from the District Police Office Jammu, police said that on January 30, 2025, a written complaint was lodged at Police Post Sidhra by Arun Sharma, son of Punnu Ram Sharma, resident of Galwaday Chak, who is currently working as a Supervisor with Peer Panjal Pvt Ltd. The complainant reported that some unknown thieves had entered the company store at Tuta Di Khui, Bajalta, and stolen dog conductor wire along with other items.
Following the complaint, a case (FIR No. 19/2025) was registered under sections 331(4) and 305(a) of the BNS Act at Police Station Nagrota, and an investigation was launched.
During the probe, police detained a suspect identified as Shah Nawaz, son of Mohd Hussain, resident of Maraye Khana Chargal, Tehsil and District Jammu. Upon sustained questioning, the suspect disclosed the location of the stolen dog conductor wire, valued at ₹2 lakh, which was subsequently recovered and seized as evidence.
The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is underway to ascertain any possible involvement of other individuals.
