A Brief Introduction About Nitish Rajora The New Director Information J&K

Srinagar : Nitish Rajora, an officer from the 2021 batch of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), has been transferred and appointed as the new Director of Information for Jammu and Kashmir (J&K). Prior to this appointment, he was serving as the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) for Jammu (North) under the AGMUT cadre.
Born on July 6, 1998, in Delhi, Nitish Rajora is 27 years old as of 2025. His academic journey is marked by a strong foundation in commerce, having earned both a Bachelor’s (Honors) and Master’s degree in Commerce from the prestigious Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi. This educational background has equipped him with a deep understanding of financial and administrative affairs, which has been crucial in his role as an IAS officer.
Nitish Rajouri’s exceptional academic credentials are further reflected in his remarkable achievement in the UPSC Civil Services Examination, where he secured an impressive rank of 268 with a total score of 952. His diligence and focused preparation allowed him to score 772 marks in the mains and 180 marks in the interview. Entering the IAS at just 22 years old, Rajora quickly made a name for himself as a dedicated and effective officer.
During his tenure as the Sub-Divisional Magistrate in Jammu (North), Rajora was responsible for overseeing various administrative functions, maintaining law and order, and contributing to local development. His leadership and commitment to public service were evident in his efforts to address economic and social challenges in his jurisdiction.
